Superfly Mag
Born in the spring of 2003, from the minds of a group of experienced, edgy independent musicians, journalists and graphix artists, Superfly Magazine has quickly become the most authoritative Italian voice on urban culture.
More than just reporting on music and visual arts, Superfly delivers street-savy culture to the masses, digging deeper than everyone else.
Superfly is concieved to reflect a blueprint value in urban culture: anything goes as long as it’s funk-y. Following this lead, we provide our readers with exclusive interviews with timeless jazz, reggae and soul musicians, new striking mc’s, the latest new jacks in electronic field and the most original and diverse photographers, graphix and graffiti artists worldwide. With a passion for true storytelling, we amazed our readers through the years by picking our stories from the slums of Naples to the Caribbean Islands, from the avant-garde cultural fields of Northern Europe, to the Californian Mojave Desert. Through the work of a team of graphics and illustrators, Superfly Magazine is designed with a classical book-like layout, but with a distinct street sensibility and enriched with handcrafted illustrations.
If content and design are not enough to set us apart, what makes every issue of Superfly a truly unique collectable is our cover concept. Our covers have been graced by exclusive pieces of art from the likes of pioneer aerosol artist Mode2, music and fashion photographers B+ and Jamel Shabazz and from grounbreaking illustrator and Stones Throw art director Jeff Jank, to name a few. Many of them found a likeminded environment while working with us and are now ranked among our contributors, making Superfly an ever growing concept and product.
